María Paula Barrera Zambrano is a national facilitator with the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership, supporting Colombia in advancing implementation of the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) and strengthening coordination across biodiversity-related policies and actors. With more than 10 years of experience in socio-environmental issues, with a particular focus on governance, biodiversity conservation, socio-environmental conflicts, María Paula has worked with UN agencies, local communities and NGOs to support inclusive, country-driven planning processes. In this role, María Paula supports national coordination processes, stakeholder engagement and NBSAP implementeation, helping translate global biodiversity commitments into practical, context-specific action at national and subnational levels.
