High-Level Political Forum 2025
14–23 July 2025 | New York, USA
Convened under the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), this global forum reviews implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In 2025, the theme is “Accelerating recovery from COVID‑19 and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda.” The program includes Voluntary National Reviews, thematic SDG sessions, and a ministerial segment from 21-23 July.
HLPF will spotlight interlinkages between development, climate, and biodiversity and serve as a vital space for governments and stakeholders to share lessons and commitments.
The NBSAP Accelerator Partnership is a country-led initiative to accelerate the implementation of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs), raise their political profile, and drive collective action for nature. It is supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety, and Consumer Protection (BMUV) through its International Climate Initiative (IKI), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD), through the global project “GBF Implementation,” implemented by GIZ. Its work is facilitated by a Global Coordination Unit (GCU) hosted by UNEP, UNDP and the Secretariat of the CBD.
