6 - 8 December 2025 | Samarkand, Uzbekistan

The subregional capacity-building workshop on Target 3 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework for Central Asia will take place in Samarkand, convened by the CBD Secretariat in collaboration with IUCN ECARO, NatureXpairs, and the Office Français de la Biodiversité. The workshop is supported by the Republic of Korea through the Peace and Biodiversity Dialogue Initiative, IUCN ECARO, the OFB, and the High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People.

The meeting will help Parties, Indigenous Peoples and local communities, youth, and other stakeholders advance national commitments under Target 3 by addressing quantitative and qualitative elements, identifying gaps and challenges, and exploring opportunities for effective implementation. It will also provide a platform for peer learning, exchange of tools, and development of priority national actions to accelerate progress under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
