The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) will take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 8-22 September 2026. The session will bring together representatives from 193 Member States to address key global issues, including sustainable development, health, and international security.

The annual gathering will include high-level debates and discussions among world leaders, providing a platform for advancing international cooperation and multilateral action on global priorities.

The NBSAP Accelerator Partnership is a country-led initiative that supports the implementation of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) to collectively achieve the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Co-chaired by Colombia and Germany, it is supported by the governments of Germany, Norway, Canada and France, and implemented by a Global Coordination Unit hosted by UNEP, UNDP, and the Secretariat of the CBD.
