February 2026

Ecuador hosted the validation workshop for its 7th National Biodiversity Report to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), a key milestone in meeting national reporting obligations under the Convention.

As the submission deadline approaches, the workshop convened a broad and diverse group of stakeholders whose active participation was essential in providing constructive inputs and ensuring the quality, accuracy, and completeness of the report. These contributions help ensure that the final document reflects national progress, challenges, and priorities in biodiversity conservation and sustainable use.

The validated report will be finalized and submitted by 28 February.
