Workshop in Mozambique Supports Integration of NDC 3.0 and NBSAP
Ponta de Ouro, Mozambique
From 26 to 28 May 2025, the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership facilitator for Mozambique, Herminío Mulungo, participated in a workshop held in Ponta do Ouro as part of Mozambique’s ongoing process to update its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0). The event was organized by the Government of Mozambique with technical and financial support from the World Bank through the Moznorth Climate Resilience Project.
The workshop also aimed to align climate action, particularly in the Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU) and Blue Economy sectors, with the country’s National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) and the global targets outlined in the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).
Convened by the National Directorate of Environment and Climate Change (DAMC) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries, the workshop brought together technical experts from key national institutions and cooperation partners to explore opportunities for greater integration between climate and biodiversity planning.
