November 19, 2025
The NBSAP Accelerator Partnership participated in the “VI Edition of the International Congress I+D+i on Sustainable Energy,” held on 18-19 November 2025 in Quito. Organized by the Institute of Geology and Energy (IIGE) in cooperation with the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID), Energy from Women, and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the event gathered participants from multiple sectors to strengthen collaboration on energy transition, renewable energy development, and resilience.
With sustainable energy systems identified as one of the key outcomes in Ecuador’s Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (PBSAP), the exchanges underscored the importance of integrating energy considerations into biodiversity and climate policy. Discussions highlighted the need for coherent approaches across sectors, strategic communication, and effective monitoring and evaluation to support implementation.
The event reinforced the importance of cross-sector partnerships to ensure that progress on sustainable energy contributes to biodiversity protection, resilience, and long-term sustainable development.
