CBD regional dialogue on biodiversity monitoring and reporting with a focus on biodiversity and health for Central Asia and Eastern Europe

Yerevan, Armenia | 25-28 November 2025

The regional dialogue on biodiversity monitoring and reporting for countries in Central Asia and Eastern Europe will be held in Yerevan, with a dedicated focus on the interlinkages between biodiversity and health. The meeting will support countries in strengthening implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and in preparing for the Seventh National Reports.

The agenda will cover progress in developing and monitoring National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans, approaches to integrate biodiversity and health considerations into national planning, and guidance on national targets and reporting processes. Discussions will also explore ways to mainstream biodiversity–health interconnections, advance national monitoring systems, and identify next steps for coordinated regional action.

The NBSAP Accelerator Partnership is a country-led initiative that supports the implementation of NBSAPs to collectively achieve the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. It is co-chaired by Colombia and Germany, supported by the governments of Germany, Norway, Canada and France, and coordinated by a Global Coordination Unit hosted by the Secretariat of the CBD, UNDP and UNEP.
