Fifteen students from the Technical University of Manabí have been selected to join the Nature Positive Student Ambassador Programme, becoming part of a global community of students taking action for nature on their campuses and in their local communities. Through the Global Network of Universities for Biodiversity, their participation contributes directly to the implementation of Ecuador’s National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP).

Through the Nature Positive Student Ambassador Programme, the selected students will engage with fellow ambassadors from universities across more than 100 countries. Over the academic year, they will share nature-related initiatives, activities and experiences from their campuses, strengthening global collaboration for biodiversity conservation while supporting national implementation efforts in Ecuador.

The programme runs from November 2025 to May 2026 and includes six thematic workshops. The first workshop, held on 28 November 2025, introduced the programme and provided an opportunity for ambassadors to meet and connect. The remaining workshops, delivered between January and May 2026, will cover biodiversity baselines, campus biodiversity actions, sustainable food systems, waste and resource use, and advocacy and community engagement. All sessions are recorded and available for participants who are unable to attend live.

By joining the Nature Positive Student Ambassador Programme, students from the Technical University of Manabí will contribute to campus-based action, peer learning and global knowledge exchange, reinforcing the role of youth leadership in advancing biodiversity objectives in Ecuador.
