The IUCN World Conservation Congress is held every four years, bringing together governments, scientists, Indigenous leaders, civil society, and the private sector to shape global priorities for nature conservation and sustainable development.
Taking place in Abu Dhabi, the 2025 Congress will focus on five critical themes to drive transformative change at the intersection of climate, biodiversity, and human well-being. With only five years remaining to achieve the Global Biodiversity Framework, Paris Agreement, and Sustainable Development Goals, the Congress is expected to advance the ambition and scaling solutions for people and planet.

The NBSAP Accelerator Partnership is a country-led initiative that supports the implementation of NBSAPs to collectively achieve the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. It is co-chaired by Colombia and Germany, supported by the governments of Germany, Norway, Canada and France, and coordinated by a Global Coordination Unit hosted by the Secretariat of the CBD, UNDP and UNEP.
