Sixth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation (SBI-6)

The sixth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation (SBI-6) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) will take place in Rome from 16-19 February 2026. The meeting will review progress in implementing the Convention in advance of the next meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 17), expected to be held in Armenia in 2026.

SBI-6 will focus on reviewing implementation progress, identifying strategic actions to enhance implementation, strengthening means of implementation, and addressing operational matters related to the Convention and its Protocols. The session will support Parties in advancing coordinated and effective delivery of CBD commitments.

The NBSAP Accelerator Partnership is a country-led initiative that supports the implementation of NBSAPs to collectively achieve the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. It is co-chaired by Colombia and Germany, supported by the governments of Germany, Norway, Canada and France, and coordinated by a Global Coordination Unit hosted by the Secretariat of the CBD, UNDP and UNEP.
