Youth voices shape Ecuador’s biodiversity agenda: First regional workshop kicks off Youth Action Plan development

Around 30 young representatives from diverse organizations and backgrounds gathered in Quito for the first regional workshop supporting the development of Ecuador’s Youth Action Plan for Biodiversity. Participants contributed valuable perspectives and recommendations to help shape the Action Plan, which will be further developed through three additional regional workshops before the final version is prepared.

Their inputs will be carefully considered in the preparation of the final Action Plan, ensuring that youth voices play a central role in advancing biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in Ecuador.

The NBSAP Accelerator Partnership is a country-led initiative that supports the implementation of NBSAPs to collectively achieve the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. It is co-chaired by Colombia and Germany, supported by the governments of Germany, Norway, Canada and France, and coordinated by a Global Coordination Unit hosted by the Secretariat of the CBD, UNDP and UNEP.
