Peru held a national technical workshop to review and update its National List of Invasive Alien Species, a key step in implementing the National Action Plan on Invasive Alien Species 2022-2026. The NBSAP Accelerator Partnership Facilitator Programme supported the process, bringing together public institutions, technical specialists, and academia to strengthen prevention, control, and management measures.
At the Regional Environmental Summit (RES2026) in Astana, Kazakhstan, Central Asian countries signed the Regional Declaration on Cooperation among Central Asian Countries on Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Management, marking a major milestone for biodiversity cooperation in the region.
A delegation from the Republic of Vanuatu is visiting Quito and the Galápagos Islands for a knowledge exchange on biodiversity conservation finance, facilitated by the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership. Over eight days, the delegation is exploring Ecuador’s flagship financing mechanisms as it looks to advance its own biodiversity financing roadmap.
